Scientific interests in a nutshell:
My interest in research has always been focused on the conservation of marine organisms and the study of their interactions with the environment in which they live. As part of the research fellowship with the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station, I expect to deepen my knowledge regarding the ecology of elasmobranchs and the topic of sustainability in the exploitation of fisheries resources, in particular by exploring alternative methods that can mitigate the impact that anthropic activities have on vulnerable species such as sharks and rays, often by-catch of fishing activities, as well as learning to confront myself with the reality of fishers, to embrace not only the strictly scientific vision of the sea, but also understand the practical needs and critical issues of those who depend on the sea for their livelihood.
